Bay Area Concert Band Spring Concert
If you are a fan of the Cape Blanco Heritage Society music concerts, the Bay Area Concert Band will be performing with Shaymus Hanlin and Wilbur Jensen (both have performed at the Hughes House in the past ~ just not together so this will be a real treat), Thursday, March 19th at 7:30 PM. Shaymus will sing 3 songs accompanied by the band: “Moon River”, “They Can’t Take That Away from Me”, and “Over the Rainbow”. Wilbur will perform a Harry James Medley. The concert will be held in the First Presbyterian Church on the east side of the Pony Village parking lot. It is free, though donations are appreciated. This is part of the 50th year celebration for the concert band (many thanks to CBHS Member Bonnie Jensen Cox for letting us know about this great music concert).
2025 Hughes House Christmas
What an incredible event “Peace on Earth” at the Hughes House was this year! It truly was a feast for all of the senses with beautifully decorated rooms, musical performances (as well as a “Peace on Earth” soundtrack for background music during tours). The concert was recorded and will be posted here once it has been edited.

We already have a theme for next year and we would like to get feedback now so we can promote and plan early. 2026 will be “Home Sweet Home” and given the culinary talents of our members this is the perfect theme. Be sure to send all of your suggestions (edible and otherwise) for this year and reserve a room early for decoration. We want this year to be the best ever!
Hughes House Christmas 2024
For CBHS Members who could not attend the Hughes House Christmas concert, we have two videos available for viewing. The first features the photography of Lynda Foster who captured all of the rooms in decoration in 2024. The second is the Christmas Concert featuring Shaymus Hanlin who performed to the delight of our guests. It was a wonderful event and we can’t wait to do it again every year. Hughes House Christmas 2023
A walkthrough of the Hughes House during the holiday festivities of 2023. The soundtrack to the walkthrough of the home is from the Christmas Concert by Just Jensens on December 17th. It was another wonderful event and inspired our annual tradition of recording the Christmas Concert for posterity. Enjoy!
