The SS Frogner was built in 1921 by Armstrong Whitworth and Co. of the United Kingdom for Fearnley and Eger, Frogner, Oslo, Norway. The largest ship to dock at Port Orford, she measured 407.1 ft long, had a beam of 58.3 ft and a draught of 30 ft 6 in. She hauled millions of feet of logs from Northwest coastal ports to Yokohama and other ports in Japan.
The SS Frogner was sold to a Spanish firm in late 1927. She stayed in Spanish ownership till an Italian submarine sank her in the Strait of Gibraltar in 1942
