We have added two videos from the outstanding OSU Port Orford Field Station Cam due to its historical significance. Tom Calvanese of the OSU Field Station creates these wonderful videos using a time-lapse method that often encompasses footage from an entire day!

We’re big fans of this work since the cam is reminiscent of the former “Home By The Sea” webcam founded by Alan and Brenda Mitchell. For quite some time it was the only way anyone could know what the weather was like before venturing into town. The OSU Port Orford Field Station is located where the Home By The Sea Bed and Breakfast used to be (although the new timelapse videos are often taken at different vantage points).

Be sure to check out the OSU Field Station for more of these great time-lapse videos!

These aerial photos were taken in 2009.

This excellent article at the Oregon Coast Marine Reserves website provides more information about Tom Calvanese and his work. The Redfish Rocks Community Team has an educational walking tour on the Junket app (you will want to download the app for the best experience).
