Dennis Dougherty recently sent us this series of photographs of the Western States Plywood Mill under construction in 1951: “I worked there two summers in 1969-70 while attending OSU and OCE. I have a small photo tablet of the mill being constructed that my Dad, Charles Dougherty, was given in 1951. I was able to work on the green & dry chain, clipper and mill pond. Put me through school. I felt fortunate to be able to work there.”

Thanks, Dennis — and we feel fortunate to have received these photographs to share at Port Orford Historical Photos! Many thanks to photographer John Heida for working his photo restoration magic to bring these 75 year old photos to life for a whole new audience.
